Sports Awards
What is the Sports Award?
We award sports funding to individuals, clubs, projects and organisations. This funding benefits children of all ages. From toddlers to teenagers and all those between.
No sport is out of bounds for us to consider and we look at individual applications as well as group applications.
Over the years we’ve helped lots of young people in our community to try out, participate or to take their own current sport even further.
What and Who We Support
We LOVE awarding funding for sports. We want as many people as possible taking part in sport. If funding to help you, your club or team in or with a sport is needed, we want to hear from you.
It doesn’t matter if you are going for gold in an international competition and need help getting there or simply a club leader wanting to give your members the chance to have a go in a new sport.
In 2024 we issued awards to some amazing causes. These awards ranged from individuals pursuing sporting dreams to helping our local Brownie group have a go at paddle boarding. A few examples are listed below:
Groups
Blackhall Brownies - Funding was provided to take the girls Kayaking and Paddleboarding with Driftwood Adventure.
Blackhall Playgroup- The financial assistance made it possible for a coach from groups such as Bumblebee Sports to run indoor or outdoor sports sessions with the children.
Blackhall PCC and PSA- A significant donation was given to assist the urgent improvement of the school playground.
Girl Guides Blackhall - Assistance was offered to enable Blackhall Girl Guides to participate in various activities including surfing, indoor climbing, or paddleboarding.
Blackhall Primary School - Funding from the charity made sure that no P7 pupil missed out on the camp in their final year of school.
Blackhall Beavers - The money allocated assisted with the weekend camp for the Beavers in September 2025 at Fordell Firs.
Blackhall Cubs - New tents were able to be purchased to urgently replace the older ones for the Spring and Autumn overnight camps.
Blackhall Lawn Tennis Club - Continued funding from 2024 into 2025 allowed the community outreach programme to be extended and to assist with payment of much needed tennis equipment.
Blackhall School Football - The children hugely benefitted from funds to pay for new equipment such as corner posts, slalom poles and footballs.
Blackhall Nursery - Support was granted to assist with the payment of sports coaching for the children similar to the previous year’s grant which covered 6 football coaching sessions with Spartans Community Foundation.
